Description
- General description: N,N-Dimethylacetamide (DMAc) is widely used to compose the solvent mixtures for cellulose. Static and dynamic light scattering studies of the cellulose dissolved in varying concentrations of DMAc/LiCl mixtures have been reported.[1]
- Application: N,N-Dimethylacetamide (DMAc) has been employed as an organic solvent for the liquid-phase exfoliation of pristine graphene from bulk graphite.[2]It may be used to compose the solvent system along with lithium chloride (LiCl) for the dissolution of commercial rayon grade cellulose.[3] DMAc/LiCl solvent mixtures have been used for the preparation of chitin, cellulose and polyimide fibers and films.[4]
