Description
- General description: Dimethyl Sulfoxide is an apolar protic solvent[1] that is generally used as a reaction medium and reagent in organic reactions.[2][3]
- Application: Dimethyl Sulfoxide may be used as an oxidant for the conversion of isonitriles into isocyanates.[4] DMSO activated by oxalyl chloride can be used in the oxidation of long-chain alcohols to carbonyls.[5]
- Packaging: 18 L, 200 L packaged in Pure-Pac® stainless steel containers; 100 mL, 250ml, 1 L, 2 L, 6×1 L packaged in Sure/Seal® bottles
- Caution: Supercools easily and remelts slowly at room temperature. Solidified product can be re-liquified by warming to room temperature without detriment to the product.
