Description
- General description: Aphidicolin is a diterpenoid metabolite of the fungi, Cephalosporium aphidicola and Phoma betae.[1] It is known to be an antiviral drug and inhibits the incorporation of thymidine into DNA of cultured human embryonic lung cells.[2]
- Application: Aphidicolin may be used as a reference standard in the determination of the analyte in plasma samples using gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC-MS).[3]
