Description

  • General description: Decane (n-Decane), an aliphatic hydrocarbon, is a reference fuel.[1] Its oxidation over a range of temperature has been studied.[2] Its crystal structure has been investigated at 150K.[3] The cracking of decane can be performed using electrohydrodynamic atomization system (EHDA).[4]
  • Application: Decane has been used as a solvent in the preparation of high alkane phase emulsified suspensions (HAPES).[5] It may also be used as a solvent to suspend the CdSe/ZnS nanocrystals during absorbance measurement.[6]
