Description
- General description: Bathophenanthroline (BPhen) is a chelating agent and is specific for ferrous ions.[1]
- Application: Bathophenanthroline was used in an ultra-sensitive and selective nonextractive quenchofluorimetric method, in order to determine palladium (II) at μg/l Levels.[2] It may also be used as the buffer layer to improve the performance of organic photovoltaic cells.[3]
- Other Notes: For the determination of iron in serum, in urine;[4] for the determination of iron(II) in presence of iron(III);[5][6] for the determination of total iron.[7]
