Description
- General description: Sodium nitrate is a water soluble inorganic salt that is commonly used in fertilizers.[1] Due to its thermal stability at high temperature, it shows potential as a phase change material (PCM) for thermal energy storage.[2]
- Application: Sodium nitrate may be used for the modification of natural phosphate for use as a basic catalyst for Claisen-Schmidt condensation.[3] It may also be used in the nitration of benzene in trifluoroacetic acid.[4]
