Description

  • General description: The product is a 0.4 M solution of ammonia in dioxane. Ammonia is a colorless gas with a characteristic strong odor. It is highly soluble in water, alcohol, chloroform and ether. It is extensively sold in the form of solution.1 Ammonia molecule is pyramidal in shape with nitrogen in the center and the three hydrogen atoms along the three vertices and the lone pair of electrons on the fourth vertex. Ammonia solution is commonly used as a base.[1]
  • Application: Ammonia solution (0.4 M in dioxane) may be used in the synthesis of 8-nitroquinolin-2-amine[2] and silphenylene-containing polymers.[3]
