- Application: Magnesium chloride hexahydrate has been used in wash buffer for the purification of protein from Saccharomyces cerevisiae.[1]It has been used for the preparation of extracellular (Ringer) solution for juxtacellular recording of single neurons in freely moving rats.[2]It has been used as a supplement to study effect of desiccation on bacterial viability.[3]
- Other Notes: Reconstitution of membrane processes[4]; Strongly enhances the vinblastine-induced tubulin self-association[5]; Component of Dulbecco′s phosphate buffered saline for tissue culture[6]; Component of culture media for Pseudomonas. In Salmonella Enrichment Broth acc. to Rappaport, inhibits normal intestinal flora.
