Description

  • General description: Molybdenum(VI) oxide (MoO3) is an acidic metal(VI) oxide.[1] It is widely employed in selective oxidation reactions. Its temperature-programmed reduction has been reported.[2] Kinetics and mechanism of its reduction in the presence of hydrogen, propene, butene-1 and CO has been investigated.[3] It is reduced to metal upon reaction with hydrogen at high temperatures.[4]
  • Application: Molybdenum(VI) oxide (MoO3) has been used as a starting material for the deposition of Mo (Molybdenum) over the MgO-330 and MgO-500 supports by employing methanol as solvent.[5]
