  • General description: The Product is 6M solution of hydrochloric acid in water. Hydrochloric acid is a strong mineral acid. It participates in the synthesis of alloxan (hexahydropyrimidine-2,4,5,6-tetrone)[1] and hydrated aluminum chloride.[2]
  • Application: Hydrochloric acid may be used in the following studies:Preparation of orcinolhydrochloric acid (Bial′s reagent), which is useful for the quantitative determination of sialic acids.[3]Hydrolytic decomposition of chitin.[4]Preparation of ammonium chloride.[5]
