Description
- General description: Potassium phosphate monobasic (monopotassium orthophosphate) is a water soluble inorganic salt. Its standard enthalpy of formation has been reported to be -376.1kcalmol-1.[1] It acts a starting material in the synthesis of potassium metaphosphate.[2]
- Application: Potassium phosphate monobasic has been used in the preparation of phosphate buffer[3] and phosphate buffered saline (PBS).[4][5] It has also been used in the preparation of PEG1000 (poly ethylene glycol)/potassium phosphate aqueous two-phase systems (ATPS).[6]
