Description
- Application: Zinquin has been used to detect intracellular zinc.[1][2]
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Zinquin is a membrane-permeant fluorophore. It is used to detect zinc in cells by UV fluorescence.[3] Zinquin ethyl ester can be used to monitor the change in intracellular concentrations of Zn2+ in thymocytes and hepatocytes.[4] The ester is excited at 368nm and emits at 490nm.[4]
