  • Biochem/physiol Actions: Thimerosal is a sulfhydryl (thiol) oxidizing reagent capable of inhibiting a wide range of sulfhydryl-dependent enzymes and proteins such as PI3-kinase-dependent methionine synthase, glutamate transport receptors, and Na++K+ dependent ATPases.
