• General description: 4-Aminosalicylic acid is an isomer of 5-ASA, the active component of sulfasalazine. This nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) has been used in the treatment of tuberculosis and is also known to be effective in treating distal ulcerative colitis.[1]Certified pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards.
