Description

  • General description: Dicamba (3,6-dichloro-2-methoxybenzoic acid) is an organochlorine compound,[1] with plant growth auxin characteristics.[2]
  • Application: Dicamba has been used: as an auxin to maintain wheat embryos post pollination[3]as a Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplement to culture embryos[4]as an auxin in induction medium to induce somatic embryogenesis in barely tissue culture[5]
  • Biochem/physiol Actions: Dicamba is a broad leaf growth regulator that mimics plant growth auxins.[1] Dicamba is used as a herbicide and is effective against glyphosate-resistant (GR) giant ragweed.[6]
  • Packaging: Bottomless glass bottle. Contents are inside inserted fused cone.
