Description
- Application: Penicillin-Streptomycin-Neomycin Solution Stabilized has been used to immerse alginate scaffold for disinfection.[1][2] It has also been used as a cell culture media supplement to control bacterial contamination.[3]
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Mode of Action: This product acts in three ways. Penicillin inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis. Streptomycin inhibits prokaryote protein synthesis by preventing the transition from initiation complex to chain-elongating ribosome, causing miscoding. Neomycin inhibits initiation and elongation during protein synthesis.
- Components: This product is formulated to contain 5,000 units penicillin, 5 mg streptomycin and 10 mg neomycin/mL and is solubilized.
