Description
- General description: IL-3 is a species-specific colony-stimulating factor that stimulates colony formation of megakaryocytes, neutrophils, and macrophages from bone marrow cultures. Recombinant human IL-3 is a 15.0 kDa protein containing 133 amino acid residues.
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Interleukin-3 (IL-3) is a hematopoietic growth factor. The gene encoding it is localized on human chromosome 5.[1] It has a role in cell proliferation and activates different signaling cascades. It is crucial for the differentiation of hematopoietic-derived endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs). The differentiation of erythroid cells, mast cells and granulocytes is stimulated by IL-3. The protein has been linked to schizophrenia.[2][3][4][5]

- Reconstitution: Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
