- Cell Line Origin: Hamster Syrian kidney
- Cell Line Description: From 2 normal young adult males. Capable of growth in suspension (spinner) cultures. Useful for growth of several viruses including arboviruses, Coxsackie A4, A8, B1, HSV, smallpox and Asian strain influenza.
- Application: Virus studies: Arboviruses, Coxsackie A4, A8, B1, HSV, smallpox influenza virus
- Culture Medium: EMEM (EBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
