- General description: CHAPSO is a non-denaturing zwitterionic bile salt derivative,[1] derived from Chaps by the addition of a functional hydroxyl group.
- Application: CHAPSO has been used:in a study to assess the processes of liposome solubilization and reconstitution of two transport proteins[2]in a study to investigate a novel bicelle system for orienting macromolecules over a wide temperature range[3] as a mixture with dilauroyl phosphatidylcholine (DLPC) in solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) technique to study membrane-associated proteins[4]
