- General description: Sodium pentanesulfonate is an anionic surfactant, which is used in the analysis of small organic molecular compounds, pharmaceutical products, and metabolites using reversed-phase high-performance liquid (RP-HPLC) and micellar electrokinetic chromatography. Sonochemical and sonoluminescent studies by electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy (EPR) and spin-trapping techniques have been reported on various ion-pairing reagents, like sodium pentanesulfonate.
