Description

  • General description: Potassium dichromate, a toxic[1] hexavalent chromium compound, is a strong oxidizing agent.[2] Its nephrotoxicity in humans and animals has been studied.[1][3] Its crystalline structure has been analyzed.[4] Its ability to induce genetic and DNA methylation alteration has been assessed in Brassica napus L. plants.[5]
  • Application: Potassium dichromate has been used in experiments to determine the ability of MCM-41-supported nanoscale zero-valent iron (nZVI) sample to remove hexavalent chromium.[6]
