- General description: Amberlyst-15 is a Brønsted acidic resin catalyst.[1]
- Application: Amberlyst-15 has been used as a catalyst for the etherification of furanyl alcohols by using both ethanol and butanol solutions.[1] Amberlyst-15 hydrogen form has been used as an acid resin catalyst for the conversion of furfuryl alcohol into ethyl levulinate in lipid ethanol[2] and for biodiesel production from triolein in a batch reaction system by transesterification method at high temperatures.[3]
- Chem/Phys Resistance: Swelling (dry to solvent saturated, %):hexane 10-15; toluene 10-15; ethylene dichloride 15-20; ethylene acetate 30-40; 95% ethylene alcohol 60-70; water 60-70.
