This product is a biodegradable surfactant and is aligned with the 10th principle of Green Chemistry "Design for Degradation".Tergitol 15-S-7 is a linear non-ionic surfactant that is a secondary ethoxylated alcohol.[1][2] It is compatible with anionic, cationic, and other nonionic surfactants.
- Application: Tergitol™ 15-S-7 has been used:To study the synergistic effect of Tergitol 15-S-7 and AOT (dioctyl sulfosuccinate) on bacterial oxidation of alkanes in crude oils[3]In cloud-point extraction technique to extract polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons from aqueous solutions[4]Along with MgSO4 in anolyte reservoir for electrokinetic experiments[5]As a very efficient surfactant in removing non-polar oil[6]To study the phase behavior of surfactant-brine–oil system, which is desired for enhanced oil recovery[7]
