Description

  • General description: Zinc iodide is a white crystalline Lewis acid often used as a starting material for synthesizing other zinc compounds, as a Lewis acid catalyst in organic reactions, and as an electrolyte additive.[1] [2]
  • Application: Zinc iodide can be used:As a catalyst for one-pot synthesis of aminoindolizines via sequential A3 coupling/cycloisomerization.[1]As a catalyst for one-pot synthesis of quinoxalines.[3]As a precursor to synthesize highly luminescent quantum dots.[4]As a redox electrolyte in hybrid energy storage systems.[2] As a dopant to prepare highly flexible PVA composite films. The addition of zinc iodide enhances the optoelectronic properties of polymer composite.[5]
