Description

  • General description: Our titanium(IV) oxide nanopowder is a fine white powder composed of titanium dioxide nanoparticles with an average particle size of 21 nm, resulting in a high surface area of 35-65 m2/g. Two main physico-chemically distinct polymorphs of TiO2 are anatase and rutile. Anatase has a higher photocatalytic activity than rutile but is thermodynamically less stable.[1]
  • Application: TiO2 nanoparticles were used to study the photocatalytic hexane vapor degradation.[2] It has been used as a sorbent for arsenic removal.[3] TiO2 nanoparticles are suitable for remediation of antiseptic components in wastewater by photocatalysis.[4] It has also been used to study adsorption of DNA oligonucleotides by titanium dioxide nanoparticles.[5]
