- General description: Trimethylolpropanetriacrylate (TMPTA) is a tri-functional monomer that is used in the productionof various types of polymers with a wide range of applications. The most commonuse of trimethylolpropane triacrylate is in the production of UV-curedcoatings, inks, and adhesives, resins, photosensitive materials, andsuperabsorbent materials. Additionally, TMPTA-based polymers are utilized in theproduction of thermosetting resins, which are used in the production ofcomposites, laminates, and coatings. TMPTA can also be copolymerized with othermonomers to tailor the properties of the resulting polymers to meet specificrequirements.
- Application: Trimethylolpropane triacrylate can be used as a starting material in the preparation of:Poly(trimethylolpropane triacrylate/Al(PTMPTA/Al) nanocomposites by in situ solution polymerization.Cross-linkable acrylamide/crotonic acid water retainer hydrogels.Polymer electrolyte for dye-sensitized solar cells.
