- General description: Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), also commercially known as K30, is a water soluble polymer. It has a hygroscopic nature with good adhesive properties. It has a stable pH and has the ability to form transparent films.[1][2]
- Application: PVP has a wide range of usage such as:an adhesive for making gluesticks and metal adhesives[3]a dispersant for ceramics[4]coatings and inks[5]formation of synthetic fibres and textiles[6][7]porous membranes[8]
- Other Notes: Polyvinylpyrrolidone is a component of Denhardt′s Solution and is included at a concentration of 1% (w/v) in the standard 50X stock solution.
