- BHI broth is used for the cultivation of a wide variety of microorganisms, including bacteria (streptococci, pneumococci and meningococci), yeasts and molds
- It serves as a base for supplemented media containing 0.1% agar, Fildes enrichment or 6.5% sodium chloride
