Description
- General description: Ellagic acid is a dimeric derivative of gallic acid. It is a plant polyphenol which has properties like antioxident, anti-inflammatory, anticancer and antiatherosclerosis.[1]
- Application: Ellagic acid was used in TLC and RP-HPLC analysis for determination of phytoconstituents content in Root Bark of Oroxylum indicum.[2]
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Commonly occurring plant polyphenol, inhibitor of glutathione S-transferase. Used for the assay of factor XIIa in plasma. Contact activation in blood coagulation.
- Packaging: Bottomless glass bottle. Contents are inside inserted fused cone.
