Description

  • General description: 1,1,2,2-Tetrachloroethane (TeCA) is a chlorine containing hydrocarbon solvent useful for dissolution of cellulose acetate, fat, waxes, greases, rubber and sulfur. It is widely used in the manufacturing of polymers.[1] Among the chlorinated hydrocarbons, it has the highest solvent power.[2]
  • Application: 1,1,2,2-Tetrachloroethane may be employed as a solvent additive for 2,2′,7,7′-tetrakis-(N,N-di-p-methoxyphenyl-amine)9,9′spiro-bifluorene (Spiro-OMeTAD). Spiro-OMe TAD is a triarylamine-based organic p-type organic hole transport material (HTM) employed in solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells.[3]
