- General description: Diethylene glycol monoethyl ether (DEGMEE) is an organic solvent commonly used in the cosmetic industry.[1] Its toxicity has been assessed.[2] Various thermodynamic and optical parameters of an aqueous solution of DEGMEE have been determined.[3] Its quantification along with diethylene glycol (DEG) and coumarin in food samples by gas chromatography-flame ionization technique has been reported.[4]
