Description

  • General description: Citric acid monohydrate is an organic acid. Its molar enthalpy of solution in water has been reported to be ΔsolHm (298.15K, m = 0.0203molkg-1) = (29061 ± 123)Jmol-1[1]
  • Application: Citric acid monohydrate may be used in the diltiazem hydrochloride (drug) and melt extruded Eudragit RS PO (polymer) formulations. It improves the solubility of drug in the polymer matrix.[2] It may be used to prepare citrate buffer for use in the intravital microscopic studies of adhesion and aggregation of platelets.[3]
