Description

  • General description: Sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) is a detergent suitable to denature proteins. It is a long-chain aliphatic group which has negatively charged sulfate, hence making it amphipathic detergent in nature.[1]
  • Application: SDS may be used: in peptide mapping and protein analysis by gel electrophoresis.[2]to utilize in designing formulations and its effect on adsorption and micellization parameters.[3]in measuring protein-SDS complexes and SDS solution in guanidine hydrochloride using gel chromatography.[4]in seperating protein subunits dissociated with SDS using Hydroxylapatite chromatography.[5]
  • Legal Information: LiChropur is a trademark of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany
