- General description: Certified pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards.Baclofen is a structural analog of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and an antispastic agent commonly used for the treatment of spasticity as a result of spinal cord or brain injury.[1]
- Application: Baclofen may be used as a pharmaceutical secondary reference standard for the determination of the analyte in plasma samples by liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry[1] and tablet formulations by UV spectroscopy,[2] respectively.
- Biochem/physiol Actions: GABAB receptor agonist; skeletal muscle relaxant; antispastic agent.
