Description
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Interleukin-1 (IL-1), originally known as Lymphocyte Activating Factor (LA F), activates T cells and lymphocytes, which then proliferate and secrete Interleukin-2 (IL-2). The proliferative activity of human IL-1α is tested in culture using the murine cell line D10S.
- Physical form: Lyophilized from 0.2 μm filtered phosphate buffered saline containing 0.25 mg of bovine serum albumin.
- Analysis Note: The biological activity of recombinant rat IL-1α was measured by its ability to stimulate cell proliferation using a mouse helper T cell line, D10.G4.1.
