Description
- General description: TBE (Tris/Borate/EDTA) Buffer is commonly used in nucleic acid electrophoresis. The TBE solution is effective under slightly basic conditions, which keeps DNA deprotonated , water-soluble, and protected from degradation. This concentrate can be easily diluted to 1x or 0.5x before use (with molecular biology grade water).
- Application: Suitable for use as running buffer for nucleic acid electrophoresis, which may be part of Northern and Southern blot hybridization procedures.
- Components: The TBE 10x liquid contains 1.3M TRIS, 450 mM boric acid and 25 mM EDTA in water.
