Description
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Acipimox, also known as olbemox,[1] is a nicotinic acid analog.[2] It functions as an anti-lipolytic drug[3] and vasodilator. Acipimox may be used in various metabolic studies involving insulin and ghrelin.[4] It lowers total cholesterol and total triglycerides, which helps in the treatment of hyperlipidemia.[2]
