Description
- Application: Chloramphenicol-Water Soluble has been used:as a supplement in Luria-Bertani (LB) medium to culture Escherichia coli[1]as a supplement in LB agar to culture Citrobacter rodentium[2]to culture Toxoplasma gondii[3]
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Chloramphenicol is a natural product found in Streptomyces venezuelae.[4] It shows a broad range of antibiotic activity against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria by binding to the peptidyl transferase loop of the ribosomal RNA to block the peptide bond formation.[5][6]
- Packaging: Package size based on chloramphenicol
- Other Notes: Formulated to contain approx. 100 mg chloramphenicol per gram of powder; balance 2-hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin.
