- General description: Phosphorus tribromide (PBr3) is a phosphorus halide that can be used as a reactive phosphorylating agent for the formation of multifunctional thiophenes.[1]
- Application: PBr3 can be used as an acceptor molecule in the formation of donor-acceptor complexes.[2] It can also be used in the phosphorylation of arylphospholes which can further be utilized in the synthesis of phosphonic amides.[3]
