- General description: Silver carbonate,prepared by precipitation[1] or ion-exchange[2] method can behave as a visible light sensitive semiconductor photocatalyst.
- Application: Silver carbonate (Ag2CO3)promotes the regioselective benzylation of carbohydrate derivatives in high yields.[3] Ag2CO3 can be used as a base for the Pd catalysed oxyarylation of olefins by ortho-iodophenols.[4]It can also be used for Koenigs-Knorr glycosylation.
