Description

  • General description: We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which belongs to one of the four categories of greener alternatives. This product has been enhanced for energy efficency. Click here for more information.
  • Application: Iron(II) sulfate heptahydrate, 99.99% trace metal basis is widely used in the synthesis of iron oxide, core shell Fe-Fe3O4 Nanostructures. These nanostructures were successfully used to trigger the sulphate radical oxidation of methyl orange (MO) in an aqueous solution by activating sodium persulfate[1]. In addition, zero-valent iron is also used is also used as caatalyst for Fenton oxidation 2,4-dichlorophenol [2]. Iron(II) sulfate heptahydrate is used as a catalyst for greener amide bond formation from amines and aldehydes[3]. Moreover, iron(II) sulfate heptahydrate has been also used as an inexpensive and environmentally friendly catalyst, at room temperature for the four component Synthesis of Protected Homoallylic Amines[4]. Iron(II) sulfate heptahydrate is also used as an important precursor for the synthesis of electrode materials for Battery. For example: The monoclinic form of FeOHSO4, synthesised from Iron(II)sulfate heptahydrate, has been used as a positive electrode material for rechargeable Li-ion batteries[5]. In addition, Iron based flurophophate synthesised from Iron(II)sulfate heptahydrate also used as battery materials to increase the open-circuit voltage by manipulation of the oxidation state of 3d-metal through the electric effect of polyanion.[6]
