In electrochemistry, this compound can act as a carbonyl source andpotentially participate in redox reactions.
  • Application: Manganese(0) carbonyl can be used:As a precursor to prepare Ni2–xMnxP nanoparticles to fabricate a catalyst for electrochemical oxygen evolution reaction(OER).[1]To fabricate an ultra-sensitive manganese doped MoS2 electrochemical dopamine sensor via modified chemical vapor deposition(CVD) method.[2]As a reducing agent to synthesize Pt-Co electrocatalyst for oxygen reduction reactions in fuel cells. Mn and CO atoms produced during decomposition acts as reducing and surface structure guiding agents respectively.[3]
