- Thermo Scientific™ Pierce Traut's Reagent is 2-iminothiolane, a small thiolation compound that reacts with primary amines (e.g., lysine side chains) to add a small spacer arm (8.1 Ås) terminated by a free sulfhydryl group
- Highlights: Reacts with primary amines (lysine epsilon amino groups) at pH 7-9 Adds a short spacer ending in a sulfhydryl group, ready for use as a target for sulfhydryl-specific crosslinking or labeling Amine-containing spacer arm preserves charge of original, modified primary amine
