- Application: Sodium trifluoroacetate can be used:As a trifluoromethylating agent in nucleophilic trifluoromethylation of aldehydes using copper(I) halide catalyst.[1]As a difluorocarbene precursor in gem-difluorocyclopropanation of different alkenes using azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as a catalyst.[2]In the synthesis of trifluoromethylthio-substituted aromatic compounds via copper-mediated oxidative trifluoromethylthiolation of aryl boronic acids in the presence of elemental sulfur.[3]
