  • MAX Efficiency DH5αF´IQ Competent Cells are high transformation efficiency chemically competent cells prepared by a patented modification of the procedure of Hanahan
  • This strain is a derivative of the DH5α strain, sharing the same benefits
  • The DH5αF´IQ strain contains an F´ episome and is a host for M13mp cloning vectors
  • It also supports cloning plasmids with an f1-like origin of replication (phagemids) or vector that uses expression from the lac promoter
  • DH5αF´IQ cells can yield >1 x 10 8 plaque forming units/μg M13mp19 RF with non-saturating amounts (5 pg) of DNA
  • MAX Efficiency DH5αF´IQ Competent Cells have the lac ZΔM15 genotype, allowing blue-white screening on plates containing either X-Gal or Bluo-Gal
  • They also carry the rec A1 mutation which helps to reduce the rate of recombination while propagating plasmid DNA and the end A1 mutation that increases plasmid DNA yield and quantity
  • MAX Efficiency DH5αF´IQ Competent Cells offer: • >3 x 10 8 transformants/μg efficiency • >1 × 10 8 plaque forming units/μg M13mp19 RF • Stable F´ episome that eliminates need for growth on minimal media • lac ZΔM15 marker that provides α-complementation of the β-galactosidase gene allowing blue/white screening on agar plates containing X-Gal or Bluo-Gal • Plasmid DNA maintenance with minimum recombination events due rec A1 mutation • end A1 mutation that enables increased plasmid yield and quantity Note: DH5αF'IQ lawn cells are provided to allow for plaque formation and a vial of monomer M13mp18 RF DNA are supplied as a control
