- Application: Mitomycin C has been used: to cease mitosis[2]in phosphate buffer saline (PBS) for inactivation and plating mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs)[3]as mutagen in mutagenicity assay[4]
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Mitomycin C (MMC) acts as a prototype for drugs with bioreductive alkylation. It is mainly found to be active under anaerobic conditions. MMC exhibits a vast clinical antitumor spectrum effectively in gastric, pancreatic and breast cancer.[6]
